Winkbeds Ecocloud Mattress Review
If you’ve read some of my mattress reviews before, you might have stumbled upon my reviews on other WinkBed mattress models. Although the brand was only launched in 2014, WinkBeds is currently one of the most recognized mattress brands in the US. Known for their premium, durable handcrafted mattresses and direct-to-consumer approach, WinkBeds has added another model to their lineup – the WinkBeds EcoCloud.
The EcoCloud mattress is made in the USA, just like their other models. Interestingly, all the coils in this mattress are made using 100% recycled steel. The EcoCloud is 13 inches thick and is available in various sizes – Twin, Twin XL, Full-size, Queen, King, and California King. And as with my previous mattress reviews, I always give you a more comprehensive evaluation of this new WinkBed model. It’s not always about the softness or the firmness alone, you guys! We have to scrutinize each layer to help us decide. I hope you’re ready, ‘cause here goes.
Winkbeds Ecocloud Mattress Review: Breaking Down The Layers
Talalay Latex Comfort Foam
The first layer of the WinkBeds EcoCloud is the 4-inch, 100% natural Seven Zone Talalay latex comfort foam. You most probably have heard or even tried latex mattresses before, and it must have affected your sleep positively, one way or another, but having this seven-zone latex comfort foam will surely make a huge difference. The foam is specifically designed to optimize ergonomic support and pressure point relief with its seven zone comfort core, which aims to relax particular areas of your body. Softer comfort zones give adequate comfort for your shoulders, upper back, pelvic areas, as well as your ankles and heels. On the other hand, the firmer zones provide the necessary support that your spine and hips need. Talalay latex is hypoallergenic and is a kind of material that does remarkably well in dispelling heat, which will make the mattress remain cooler during sleep. So whatever kind of sleeper you are or whatever your sleeping position is, you can expect a comfortable and restful night.
AirSpring Support Coils
The second layer is 9-inch thick and is fabricated using recycled steel. This five-zone individually-wrapped pocketed coil support system also aims to deliver the essential support and comfort your body needs for both a relaxed and healthy sleep. This layer contains naturally breathable AirSpring Support coils that boost airflow.
ExtraEdge™ Anit-Sag Support Coils
The ExtraEdge™ Anit-Sag Support Coils is a patented enhanced edge support system that is expected to give you 15% more “sleepable” area and more stable and supportive rims, regardless of your sleeping position, weight, or movements on bed.
All in the Cover
The cover of the Winkbeds EcoCloud is assembled using 100% organic cotton and New Zealand wool. The cover indeed adds up to the overall pleasurable experience in using the EcoCloud because aside from giving the mattress a unique texture and style, it also helps in eliminating heat and moisture while providing a soft and gentle surface to lie on.
Winkbeds Ecocloud Mattress Review: How Does It Perform
Once you’ve experienced sleeping on the EcoCloud mattress, you’ll no longer ponder why the company named this as such. Yes, it is soft and fluffy, and it is really comfortable to sleep on. Although the EcoCloud is evidently bouncy and responsive, it is still strong and sturdy enough to give your body the right support. I can say that it has the ideal balance of support and comfort.
The layers that make up the EcoCloud undeniably carry out their purpose and function as expected, and you’ll notice a relaxing feel and pressure relief after just a few days of trying the mattress out. It cushions specific parts of the body but provides great support for the shoulders and hips. You can easily sleep on your back, or sides or stomach…
On the subject of motion transfer, EcoCloud’s performance is just average – movement is perceptible but still relatively sturdy enough.
Winkbeds Ecocloud Mattress Review: The Final Verdict
Let’s face it – not everyone will find the EcoCloud practical because it’s more on the pricey side. However, if you come to think of it, choosing the right mattress is a good investment. If you opt for a quality mattress that will last for a couple of years, then the EcoCloud mattress is one of the best mattresses you could get. I love that its composition and design can accommodate any type of sleeper, weight or body type, and can still function well whether you sleep solo or you share your bed with someone. As I’ve persistently brought up, EcoCloud provides a great balance of comfort and support, so if you are specifically looking for one of the two characteristics, you might not find it in EcoCloud. Overall, my sleep experience with the WinkBeds EcoCloud mattress is beyond satisfying and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to have a good night’s sleep for a long time.
